Today I finally get to show the farewell gift my guild made for a leaving member, Lisa.
Our guild goes by the name Rhein-Main-Sterne (Rhine-Main-Stars), because we come from the Frankfurt area and from the states of Hessen (where the Main is) and Rhineland-Palatinate (where the Rhine flows). Lisa is leaving for the Stuttgart area and will be much missed as an organizer of quilting classes and - with her hotel - provider of the place to meet and to have the classes at... So, to show our appreciation, we each made her a star and handquilted the piece within two months in secret... See the busy hands...
I'm so concentrated - stab-stitching along...
Now that's what I call a quilting bee...

so, yesterday we finally gave her the quilt and said our farewells. So, now we can go public about our secret project... And here is the result and happy new owner:

  1. What a beautiful quilt, your group is very generous.

  2. and believe me it looks soooo good on my bright red sofa :-)

  3. this calls for photographic evidence...
